1+1 channel
Channel 1+1 is the leading private Ukrainian national channel. It was founded September 1995 and broadcasts for about 100 hours weekly. It covers 95% of Ukrainian territory. 1+1 is a station-member of CME Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. that unites various perspective media in Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.
The format of 1+1 is infotainment. Our programming is targeted mainly to people aged 44 and younger. Over 60% of our broadcast is in-house local production, others are acquisitions of series and movies. 1+1's typical shows are Melrose Place, Chicago Hope, Emergency Room, Dynasty, Beverly Hills 90210, Savannah, Xena, Hercules, La Femme Nikita, The X-files, Friends etc.
Channel 1+1 is the only to start (co)production of movies and series. Among them well-known "East-West" (the Oscar nominee), "A Chef in Love" (the Oscar nominee), . Also 1+1 produces famous in former USSR series called "The Bourjeois Birthday" that during its broadcast reached about 60% of all TV viewers in Ukraine and even more when re-broadcasted in Russia.
Such new for Ukraine formats as sitcoms and mysteries will also be the 1+1's business this year.
Channel 1+1 had the exclusive broadcast rights for US President Bill Clinton visit to Ukraine. Also on a regular basis we conduct a special TV projects on various political and economic topics. One of the latest were "Democracy Dialogues" with Madeline Albright, TV bridges with Russia and Poland.
A lot of attention is paid to cultural life in the country. 1+1 supports all nation-wide social projects such as concerts, exhibitions, festivals and sporting events involving famous celebrities Joe Cocker, Monserrat Cavalier, Patricia Kaas, Metallica, Zuccero, Alphaville, Smokie, Jose Carreras.
